The drive belt has lost some of its rubber ribs, you need to replace the belt

with belt around drum, pull idler back with tension on it and put belt over pulley of motor and let idler up against belt and it should be right ,,,, larryyb

if you have a broken belt... remove the back. and the drum support. then you can remove the belt... and replace it with the new one...pull back the pulley and them loosen the belt... let me know

Usually there are one or two panel in the front that are held by some screws. Once removed the top panel is usually attached to the front panel and you can get a screwdriver and release the plastic push in retainers. Prop the top up and the drum is exposed. The belt usually goes around the drum down to a drive pulley on the bottom of the machine. You will need to route the belt around the drum in the front or back to get it routed correctly.
