My Shark Euro-Pro EP750 has stopped charging. I plugged it in the other night, the charge light lit, and then nothing. Please help.
Either the battery is not making contact with the charger internals, or the battery itself is at end-of-life.
Testimonial: "thank you for your honesty! I'm not sure if it IS worth replacing. It 'was' a great vacuum, and I have all the useful attachments, but for that pric"
Something you should consider at this point is--is it worth replacing the battery. The going price for replacement batteries in any self-powered device is in the $40-$60 range and if someone other than yourself does the labor work, it could be upwards of $100 or more! There is the added problem of determining whether the charger or the battery is at fault. If you are determined to repair it (and it is the battery that is bad), there is a rebuilding service that will place new cells in your original battery case for roughly the above price. It appears that the case of the vacuum must be dismantled to access the battery. Is the charger internal or a 'wall-wart' type that outputs the required voltage for charging? Mull this over and get back if you are determined to repair it.
