I have a 6/7 yr. old Whirlpool Topload washer Ultimate Care II I have looked everywhere fior the model number Lid/Back and side. No find!! I need the timer motor for this unit. It is 7 cycle, 5 speed Quiet Wash, Commercial Quality. White in color. The only numbers I can find are: SM8280867, PN3953615, 3357978

Usually the model number is on the lip of the inner rim of the washer when you open the lid...near where the water comes into the basin. But even if you can't find the part number for the switch or the washer, you can just defeat the switch by taking the two colored wires from the switch and twisting them together...no switch needed then!

Remove number one then 23 then number 2
Then remove the agitator. Set it on the floor and yank it apart. Install the new part being careful not to break the retention tabs on the base of the agitator. Here is a nice video which shows how it is done:

Normally on top load machines open the lid and look toward the back hinge area inside the lid. It is usually on the back there. It may also be posted on a white sticker on the back of the machine.

it might look ok but not all the time it is. If the switch is good, maybe it is a burnt or bad connection at the motor. or it could be a bad motor

Lid switch should 'click' when lid lowered. May need to be renewed if you can't hear this.

LID CONTROL SWITCH BAD REPLACE

I'm not sure of the model number of the stove but usually slide a putty knife under the control panel between the bottom of the control and the top of the base. There is a clip on each side then the panel will tilt back and you can take it off. After that there are 2 gold clips that hold the back on to the base. Remove them by snapping then out of the base. The the whole thing is loose and the base (where the lid and sides are. Comes out as 1 big piece. It sound like the basket is out of balance. When it spins open the lid and see if the basket is moving side to side and back to back. If so look under the deck and see if there is springs or rubber ties attached to the basket.

Model # and info is under the lid. Open lid and look directly under it - area facing you. You should see a small silver tag with all the factory info on it. My washer is also 9 years old.
