Kenmore HE2T Front Loading Washer Leaks From Door

Kenmore HE2T Front Loading Washer Leak

I've inspected the seal or boot around the door and it appears to be fine. Somehow, water collects INSIDE the glass of the door itself, and then leaks from there. Any ideas or suggestions as to how I can prevent this?

Thanks

If it helps, the model # of the washer is W10117770A.

Thank-you very much for the reply ddmc1956. I just took the boot off and inspected the dispenser hose. Everything looks good and nothing stuck inside the hose.

I did however noticed that the latch on the door slides left/right (horizontally). But when I close the door, the door doesn't seem to move at all. I was going to tighten the latch so that it didn't slide, but I assume that it's supposed to slide back and forth because it doesn't seem to make the door loose.

Because the water appears to be leaking INTO the glass on the door (you can see a bunch of water stuck in the door) and then leaking out the bottom of the door, I would assume that the panel that holds the glass piece onto the door is loose. But I tightened all of the screws on the panel and water still somehow gets inside the door?

    Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks again ddmc1956. I'm thinking that I'll take the door apart and see if there's some sort of gasket that isn't seated properly - or something like that. If I do find the problem, I'll definitely post back.

    Cheers!

Thank-you. I guess I may have to look into that as well - although the boot appears to be in perfect shape.

There is a dispenser hose that goes in the tub.alot of times a sock or something gets inside that hose.that would cause your trouble.take the boot off the front and look up and left to see that hose.it comes out of the tub pretty easy.

Have not run into this problem all that often other than the time i found the sock inside that dispenser hose.Other than taking your door apart and looking around inside would not know what else you can try.Let me know if you found the problem.

Our front loading Electrolux washer is leaking from the bottom of the door. There are no tears that we can see when we inspected it. Can we improve the seal?

Try taking it off and soaping it up to re-seat, it may just be out of position.

Also, ensure that the front panel itself is not bent if it was transported poorly. If the panel has moved away from the tub, you will not have fun with this.

Dishwasher leaks from the bottom of the door

Hi, if it is leaking around/under the door, it must be the seal around the door. Check to see if the seal needs to be pushed in somewhere or is damaged..
Try running the cycle with no dishes in the washer and see if it leaks, it sounds like a gasket in the door to me and you can also check hose by removing the front panel on floor and check there....

Inspect the door gasket. As it ages, the gasket can crack or become hard, preventing it from sealing completely.
If the gasket appears solid, adjust the door latch so the door seals tightly. Loosen the screw that holds the door latch to the cabinet. Push the latch in slightly and re tighten the screw. Test the door and readjust the latch if necessary.
Replace the gasket if water continues to leak after you've tightened the latch. Most gaskets are held by compression in a groove on the door or on the dishwasher cabinet.

We have water leaking out of the front of our washer not from the door but from just below the door. Is all over the floor??

most likely you have a hole in the boot seal, the rubber piece in between the door and the tub, also open the door and wipe the bottom part of the door on the plastic window,i've found pieces of hair there and the water travels down the hair and leaks through the door.if that's clean you have a hole in the boot seal, open the door, spread the rubber boot open and with you fingers feel all around the rubber boot

Water leak from source which cannot be seen

Is this a FRONT LOADER? Or, is this a TOP LOADER?

If this is a FRONT LOADING Kenmore washer, the following link explains how to access and inspect the washer for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

In most cases, the source of the leak on a FRONT LOADER is the door bellow (gray rubber seal). If the bellow is ripped or torn it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

NOTE: Overloading a front loader can contribute to premature wear and tear on the door bellow and cause damage.

If this is a TOP LOADING Kenmore washer, the following link explains how to access and inspect for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

The most common source of a leak on a TOP LOADER is a leaking drain pump. If the drain pump begins to leak, it is not serviceable and must be replaced. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

Read through the links provided and verify all your drain hoses and dispenser hoses as well. Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartrsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER, so that I can determine how your washer is configured. I hope this helps you.

Front loading Whirlpool Duet Washer leaks from bottom of machine

If the washer only leaks during the spin cycle, you may have a worn door bellow (rubber seal). As the washer spins, the centrifugal force of the tub can spin the water into the door area. If the seal is torn, it will leak out of the bottom of the washer. You will need to inspect the perimeter around the door to ensure the seal does not have any rips or tears. To be sure, you need to remove the lower toe panel under the door and inpsect the washer thoroughly. The following link explains how to access the interior of the washer cabinet and how to inspect for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

The door bellow DOES wear out with age, but if you have a tendancy to overload the washer it can contribute to premature wear. If you determine that the bellow requires replacement, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope I've given you enough information to help you find the source of your leak.

Washer leaks water

If this leak is coming from the front door, replace the door and drum seal. If this leak is coming from the bottom or rear bottom area, this will be a loose drain hose or, faulty inlet water valve assembly connection.

Inspect these areas closely.

Water leaks through bottom of Front door

The manufactures suggest putting washers on the back side of the hinge to draw the door tighter to the seal, otherwise you may have to replace the seal.
