Haier Plasma Tv Screen went black

Mine did the same thing, I called Haier and reprted the problem. there is some kind of kit to remedy the problem where 3 boards are replaced. The repair performed by Sears service center was in home and cost me nothing for parts or a sevice call. Sadly now the monitor is working agin but with some interference of some kind. I called Sears service and they are coming back.

I too bought a Haier Plasma 42EP24S ,it stopped working after 7 months -I moved and did not touch it for the next five months
while searching for another tv to replace it- I came apon this site .
the tv was out of warrenty by both sears and haeir
well after reading these posts I called haier america and complained they in turn extended my warrenty and a sears rep came on 5 differant times and replaced all the boards inside tv with no luck - so after putting in over $1400.00 in parts an repair into a $1200.00 tv they wanted to start replacing boards again
I refused and kept complaining to several differant reps at sears
[they told me it was haeirs responsabilty not thiers] I don't know haw many times I explained to them that sears sold me the tv not haeir so stand behind what you sell -well after alot of calls and persistance sears replaced my tv free of charge with credt for a new tv for exactly what I paid
SO DONT BUY ANY PARTS OR PAY FOR ANY SERVICE IF YOU BOUGHT THIS TV AND ARE HAVING PLOBLEMS
be persistant untill its either fixed or replaced

I am working on one right now with a similiar problem. The power supply is bad in the one I am working on, and sadly, the part is not made anymore. I hope you have better luck than I am finding the bad component in yours. Sorry for the negitive answer.

You shouldn't have to pay for a known defect and when there exists a known cure as is discussed here. If you have bought from Sears, they should be well aware of this problem by now. Negotiate directly witth Haier directly about the kit and have them agree to absorb the replacement costs. They will provide your with instructions to follow. Sears provide service and the parts comes from Haier. Sears do not have the parts. If you didn't buy from Sears, the process is easier. See my other post.

This is a superb display once repaired. Hope this help as others on this site has helped in my case. Thanks for coming to the rescue.

I have the Haier plasma..Model # 42EP24S and as others it has went to a black screen with only audio...Is there something I can do to fix this....Thank you for all help. Alison
