I can not acesss my faceboo act b/c I am un able to retrieve the password from the gmail account that it is set up under.Can you tell me how to either chande the email address for facboo or ho to get google to help me recover or rest the password to the other account? So far all of google's instructions for pass word recovery or restting have gotten me no where. TY for your help= Melissa

To reset your forgotten Gmail password:

• Make sure you either have a secondary email account specified for your gmail account or

• Follow the cant access your account? link from the Gmail log-in page.
• Make sure i forgot password is selected.
• Type your full Gmail email address under Email address.
• Click Continue.
• If you have set up a secondary email address for recovery:
  • Make sure the desired email address is selected following Get a password reset link at my recovery email: under Choose how to get back into your account..
  • Click Continue.
  • Open the Google Password Assistance message in the selected email account from Google Account Recovery.
  • Follow the link under To initiate the password reset process for your ___ Google Account.
• If you have set up a security question for Gmail password recovery:

  • Type the answer to your recovery question following the question.

• Enter the desired new password under both New password: and Re-enter password.

If you have used your Gmail account in the past five days but have not specified a secondary email address, you'll have to wait for these five days to pass.

You can go on your Gmail account on your computer to reset your password. It would be much easier that way.

Combine Multiple Gmail Accounts
You can combine multiple Gmail accounts into a single, primary Gmail account by using the POP3 Mail Fetcher application built into Gmail.
The Mail Fetcher enables you to retrieve email from POP3 email accounts, including Gmail, and send mail as if from a different email address all from within your primary Gmail account. Configure your primary account to manage your other Gmail accounts with the Mail Fetcher.

Sign in to the Gmail account that you want to use to manage your Gmail accounts.
Click the "Settings" icon, represented by a gear cog, in the top left and click "Mail Settings."

Click the "Accounts and Import" tab.
Click the "Add POP3 Email Account" button.
Enter the email address of your secondary email account and then click "Next Step."
Enter the password of your secondary email account and then click "Add Account."
Click the radio button beside "Yes, I want to be able to send email as
[SECONDARY EMAIL ADDRESS]" and then click "Next Step."
Enter the display name for your secondary email address and then click "Next Step."
Click "Send Verification" and then check your secondary email account.
Click the link contained in the verification email to confirm the integration of that account with your primary Gmail account.
All mail sent to your secondary Gmail is now delivered to your primary account, and when responding your secondary Gmail address is displayed in the From section of the email.

Reset My Gmail Password
Google introduced Gmail on April Fool's Day in 2004.
The company first gave out 1,000 accounts to Google employees, friends and family members to test out the new email system.
Now, Gmail is a common and popular email application for users around the world thanks to its ease of use, high capacity and wide range of functionality,
Sign in to your Gmail account with your user name and password.
Click "Settings" in the upper right-hand corner.

Click on "Account and Import," then click "Google Account Settings."
A new window will open.
Click "Change Password" under "Personal Settings."
Type your current password, then type your new password.
Type the new password again for confirmation.

Of course it does. When you add the gmail account to your Outlook program you go through a lengthy configuration of email address, incoming mail server, outgoing mail server and so on. At some point there is the option to test the account setting and if you click to test you are asked to provide the password for your gmail account. Supply the password there and if the testing is positive you will not be asked again for it.
Without you password to your gmail account, Outlook will not be able to log on to the server and retrieve your mail.

I'm not sure if this is of any help
to anyone but these are the steps
I used to set up email on my
Monte. I'm using an old hotmail
account that didn't support IMAP
or SMTP properly.
1.Set Up a GMail account eg.

2.Set GMail to allow IMAP via the
settings link the the top right
hand corner. (under Forwarding
and POP/IMAP)
3.Under accounts and import set
up the send mail as to send mail as
[email protected]. Set this
to default send adress
4.In the same tab under check
mail using pop3 set up the pop3 to
recieve from someone@

5.Under Email Accounts on the
Monte set up email with the
following charecteristics:
Account Name: Hotmail
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL

the phone puts in the from line of

This should allow you to recieve
new messages from the time you
set up the gmail account on your
phone and to send emails with all
the appearences of coming from
your hotmail account while
actually coming from google's
smtp server. Really do check that
the GMail is set up properly, make
sure it recieves emails adressed
to your hotmail and that it sends
in your hotmail account's name.

IF you are asking for help to retrieve password which you have entered, the help assistance or any website assistance cannot give you the same password you have entered for security reasons, this comes under DPA ( Data Protection ACT )

You should not be worried about what your old password was as long as you get a new password to access your mail account. If this account isnt yours, then sorry to say, no one can help you, as it will be considered hacking.
