To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with the faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem
Just did mine today, replaced the capacitors. didnt take too long but requires patience. The capacitores i used were 16V 1000uf 105C. btw it doesnt matter the voltage of the capacitors, its an indication of what it can take so anything above the 10V should be fine. ofcourse nothing excessive but i would recommend 16v capacitors they are reasonably sized. anyone want any help with it plz post.

I had a good result finding a fault on a Samsung le40s86 which had a black blank screen when switched on...
I found there was no power going to the high voltage backlight transformer, this was due to one of the driver transistors gone short !
I'm gonna change it and all should be good, also found some dry joints which i re-soldered :)

I just phoned Samsung myself and I have a LN-S4041D 40" LCD. They told me that the recall was issued a little while ago and that the recall is limited to one year after the guarantee period and that since my tv is 2 1/2 years old, they cannot honor that recall.
Just a heads up for anyone reading this solution
LN-S4041DX/XAA 40 Inch LCD TV Issue:
.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P
{padding:0px;}
.ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage
{font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;}
TV referenced above just clicks on/off repeatedly but it won't power
up. The LED flashes 4 times and then it goes off. TV is 3 1/2 years
old and of course out of warranty.
I am not ready to call a service person because they never seem to do anything but replace boards which is what I am trying.
Here is what I have done so far:
1. Replaced 10V capacitors on power supply board with higher voltage ones but same 1000uF rating. Didn't fix the problem.
2. Replaced entire power supply board with another one. Didn't work.
3.
Now I plan to replace the main board on the right and the T con board
at the top. I will do this separately to see if it fixes the problem.
I will return whatever board that I don't need.
Can anyone think of
something I am missing? Is it an easy fix that a repairman could do if
he's good? I'm ready to call SEARS after this.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Anthony
Same thing here going to my LE32B...
I thought kids/wife had played around with some strange timing settings in the menu, because in addition to not turning on immediately, it also turns on suddenly during (even the night...) without anybody asking it to do so...
Do you guys mean that my 2 months old TV is already doomed to go to Samsung Assistance???
Thx
Change all the 10volts capacitors in the secondary smps they are 10v 1000mf
