PRINTER WONT PRINT RIGHT WHEN I PRINT SOMTHING ONLY NUMBERS AND LETTERS COME OUT

change printer emulation to KPDL-Auto

open printer from printer folder delete all pending documents then restart ur compurter and printer and then try once again printing

In this case what i would Request u to do is.........
Goto Control Panel goto Printers folder.........
There u will see the Lexmark Printer Icon...........
Just right click on the Printer Icon and click on Properties.........
Now click on Advanced and goto Print Processor.........
Change it to Lexmark NTEMF 1.0008........
Click on Apply click Ok now try to Print..........
Prints Fine............Issue Resolved........

Download the Lexmark ToolBar from:

Restart your computer once and now try to print using the Lexmark Tool Bar..........
It should work fine........

Open the cover where the ink tanks are located. The serial number is located on a white sticker on a metal plate to the right of the print head carriage inside the printer.

It starts with four letters and ends with five numbers. For example:
ABCD01234

We have to connect the printer to the network first, If it is not connected, please follow the below steps.

1. Touch Setup ( ) on the touch screen.
2. Scroll down in the Setup menu, and then touch Network .
3. Scroll down in the Network menu, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard . The Wireless Setup Wizard searches for networks, and then displays them in a list.
4. Touch the name of your network.
5. If the list does not contain your network name, follow these steps to enter it manually:
6. Touch Enter New Network Name (SSID) .
7. On the on-screen keyboard, touch the appropriate letters and numbers to enter the network name (SSID). NOTE: Make sure that you enter the uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters exactly. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.
8. When you finish entering the new network name, touch Done , and then touch OK .
9. Touch Infrastructure , and then touch WEP encryption or WPA encryption. If you do not want to use encryption (a security password), touch No, my network does not use encryption , and then go to step 6.
10. If prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key:
11. 1. Touch the appropriate letters or numbers on the on-screen keyboard.
    NOTE: You must enter the exact uppercase and lowercase letters. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.
12. When you are finished entering the WEP key or WPA key, touch Done and then touch OK to confirm. The product attempts to connect to the network.

Once it is connected to the network or if it is alreday connected, please follow the below steps on the printer.

1. Touch Setup ( ) on the touch screen.
2. Touch Network , touch View Network Settings , and then touch Print Network Configuration Page .

After that, please note the ip address of the printer from this printed page and follow the below steps.
Please click on Start------Control Panel---Printers Folder.
Right-click on the printer icon 8500 series---- click " Properties" , and then click the Ports tab
Click Add Port .

Click TCP/IP port and put (ip address of the printer)

, and then click New Port . The Add Port wizard starts.
Click Next ,
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish adding the port.
The issue will be fixed.

you may have the wrong printer driver installed, or you are trying to print content with the wrong program.

Another possibility might be RF interference, especially if you have moved equpment, or put a radio next to it, or a telephone.

First locate your original HP driver cd.( if you cannot find it go www.p.com and download the drivers for your printer). Then, go to control panel and uninsatll your printer. And restart your computer and you will be prompt to insatll the printer again. Use your cd and follow insatructions.

The printhead is clogged.

The letters and number it is printing is the self test print mode. Normally to run the self test you would turn the printer off, then hold down the feed button, then while holding the feed button, turn the power back on. It sounds like your feed button may be stuck.
