Sound like you have a bad dlp chip. this happens to a lot of samsung dlp tvs. some of the mirrors are stuck. they can appear as black dots or white dots and it usually gets worse over time.

    Hadn't had my tv 3 years when sits started coming in! Now they are black an white dots! I feel that is a defective part because my friend has the same tv brought from same store an has had about same length of time and doing same thing but her's hasn't gotten bad as mine are yet ! I think there should be a recall! I've talked to tv reps but they were of NO help!!!!!

Samsung, DLP TV 50 inches Model # HL-T5075X/XAA
Samsung just told me they wouldn't fix my tv because it was produced in Nov. of '06 and the only ones they would fix were made in August of '06 or earlier. I am way too angry right now to call the service tech number they so very nicely provided.

Call Samsung! They do recall even if it's out of warranty.
They set a tech to come and fix it for free.

White dots on screen of 50 Samsung DLP
Random dots or pixels failing on a DLP TV will be a bad DMD chip. This is a technician replace item only. The chip runs around 160 dollars list price. The part number will depend on which version the set uses and will be determined by the technician.

If these dots are only seen when the picture is on I would look for the Optical Block to be causing it. Are the dots in the same place each time you turn it on?

the white dots our dead pixles im afraid the only way of fixing this is buying a new display, if you contact samsung and let them no they should be able to give you the price of a new display.
