Sony rdr-vx525 video cassette/dvd recorder.

Have a Sony rdr-vx525 video cassette/dvd recorder. Just purchased refurb'd. the 2 ''one touch dubbing'' buttons don't seem to function in either direction when attempting to. Receive no message nor indication that it is recording or unable to. Not trying to copy anything protected. just old home movies from VHS to DVD.
Thanks,

Herb Z.

Recorded a movie on the DVR, played it & recorded it onto a Sony DVD-R with the Sony RDR-VX525, I believe it finalized & did everything it should. However, it won't play. It says disk error. I went...

what happened was that you probably chose a disc speed on the DVD that was too fast or slow for the dvd players that you are putting it in to. Try re recording it but when under the DVD section, on your remote, choose REC Mode till it says SP. That one should work on just about any dvd player. I had the same problem with mine. Here is a step by step instruction on how to dub from VHS to DVD correctly. If you follow all the steps, you should be fine :) http://angrytechblog.com/2011/02/how-to-one-touch-dub-vhs-to-dvd-on-the-sony-rdr-vx525/
