Kenmore Coldspot model 106 - Snowing in freezer!

Kenmore Coldspot model 106 - HELP! Freezer looks like full of snowy blizzard. Ice on roof of fridge. Freezer vent not blocked. Cleaned coils underneath fridge with fridge brush. Set both fridge & freezer on 3/normal. Snow increasing, not improving. I think it is always running too. Recommendations please!

Check the defrost thermostat and it's defrost timer that turns off the refrigeration compressor and turns on the heater element to melt away the frost. Check the heater element, too.

Kenmore coldspot model 106 53532300 leaking on the floor, freezer side.

Hi,

please double check that your freezer door is closing properly. You can also pull the fridge out and check whether the water is coming from the back of the of the fridge. If not, then that means there's a leak under the fridge and if that's the case you'll need to schedule a diagnostic on the fridge. You might reach out to Kenmore over the phone directly to ask them to send you a technician for this.

Thank you.

Have kenmore coldspot model # 106 manufactured 08/97 that drain is not operating bottom of freezer ices over no matter what temp.is set at

Need the complete model number for this unit, but I am going to guess that you have a defrost problem with the freezer, more than a drain issue.

We have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 106 70102000 with the water and ice maker, it is now leaking inside the fridge itself and we have turned the water off to the ice maker and dispenser. What is causing the...

It is probably your defrost cycle causing this. Obviously if you shut the water line off then it is not coming from there so there is only 1 other place it could be. Every 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on you defrost timer the refrigerator will defrost itself.......the frost melts into water and drains into a pan under the fridge. If the drain is plugged then it will just run into the refrigerator. If you have a freezer on top model then just remove the back wall inside the freezer, it will be a few 1/4 inch screws....If you have an icemaker then remove that too, it will be held on with 3 screws. Just look behind that wall and you will probably see ice at the bottom.....defrost the ice and pour a cup or 2 of water into the drain to make sure it is unclogged. If it is still plugged up then you have to find the clog....either in the back of the fridge behind the lower cover or in the refrig compartment near the back of the roof.

Refrigerator not cool, freezer ok

Either the freezer continues to freeze up (most likely due to low refrigerant, due to a leak), or there is an obstruction between the freezer and the refrigerator (refrigerators get their cooling from the freezer).

Given that it works after you defrost it, I'm going with low gas. Call a professional to see if the leak can be fixed. If the unit is more than 10 years old, just get a new one.
