Cooktop shut off and lock itself up

We have a Wolf 36" electric cooktop. Lately, while we're cooking, the cooktop automatically shut off and lock itself up. If we try to unlock it, it will lock it up again.

If we successfully unlock it, the cooktop will work only for few minutes before it shut off and lock it up again.

Sometimes we have to wait more than half hour before everything starts to work. Does anyone know what the problem is? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Same issue..called Wolf customer service. They said to turn off the breaker for a full 5 minutes. Worked! I'm guessing it resets the unit.

I've discovered with my Wolf 36 Ceramic, that if something warm crosses the control panel, it will trigger it...warm pot lid, warm condensation, bottom of pan, etc.

I have a Wolf cooktop model CT36E/S that has the burner lock key flashing. I tried shutting off the breaker many times. PLEASE HELP!!!! Model. CT 36 E/T Serial 11040943

way late but if not fixed here ya go...
Look in the bottom right corner of your Wolf cooktop. A key symbol glows when the cooktop is locked. Press and hold the glowing key symbol for three seconds. The cooktop emits three chimes and the symbol stops glowing when the lock is switched off.Hold the key symbol down for a further three seconds to reactivate the lock.

Need help to unlock the cooktop

You will have to hold the lock button down for 3 or 5 seconds for it to unlock. If this doesn't help, it could be a stuck key pad or a problem in the circuit board.
Thanks/Mike

Glass top is scratched and discolored...can you replace just the glass top? Susan

GLASS MAINTOP ASSY
Part Number PS253905
price around $812.92

Replaced main glass cooking surface on cooktop

First, shut of the breaker to the cooktop.
Then removed two screws to release brackets holding cooktop down. Then lifted the cooktop out of the recess in the counter top and removed the screws around the outside of the glass top. Removed the old, cracked top, by unplugging from the motherboard.
Turned the new cooktop upside down on table and placed weather stripping around the entire underside outside edge (to keep spills from going under the cooktop and cushion the cooktop from the counter top.
Then plugged the new cooktop into the motherboard, replaced screws around outside edge, lowered the cooktop into the recess in the counter, and reinserted the two screws into the hold-down brackets.
Turned the breaker back on.
Note: Just need Screw drivers and 40 minutes of your time.

Wolf range cooktop

I just installed a Wolf gas cooktop and had the same problem in that all 4 burners would light just fine but the electronic igniters would not stop clicking on all four. What I found was that the electrical outlet that my gas cooktop was plugged into had the polarity reversed. I tested the outlet with a polarity testing module (you can get one at Home Depot and it checks polarity, grounding, GFI and is handy to have around, small and inexpensive). I plugged it in and the lights told me that the polarity was reversed. I reversed the wires in the outlet (exchanged the white and black wires) put the cover back on, plugged in the cook top and now it works like a champ! no more constant clicking. By the way, we had a cooktop before this one with electronic ignition and never had a problem, apparently it didn't care about the polarity.
