Burnt Resistor I need the value for a resisotr R408 and diode D405 any idea without buying the whole manuel ??? [email protected]

Circuit diagrams of SMPS section of many popular brand devices are given. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Without a circuit diagram or another actual unit to look at it is very difficult to identify burnt out resistors. Even harder is finding out why it burnt out because most of the time a resistor only burns out if overloaded due to other circuit component faults.

This may sound like a lazy answer but without a schematic, its going to be tough. Perhaps you know someone...or maybe there is someone here who has the same unit who wouldn't mind opening it up to get the value. Good luck.

Your going to have to call the factory/customer service and find out what the resistor size is.Got Radio Shack and get a couple of them and solder one in.You don't want to run it strait without the resistor,could burn up something MORE important.Like the clutch.You can get Husqvarna online help too.Try Husqvarna.com.This new stuff can be a pain at times,but gotta havit.Rigger

PHILIPS WILL NOT HELPYOU WITH YOUR TV. THEY HAVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOR THE TVS GOING OUT. CHECK IT OUT.

The color stripes on the resistor should tell you.
If it does not have colored stripes, it is a diode or something, and not a resistor. Find another the same color, and measure it with an ohmmeter. Trial and error works if you start with one having greater resistance.

I don't recommend this, but the resistor you speak of is probably a small fuse. Try jumping out the fuse, then turn on unit for brief moment. If it powers up, fine. Replace jumper wire with 1 amp fuse. If not, take to prof. tech.

Locate shorted diode connected to resistor and shorted capacitor

Resistor don't normally burn out with help, say, without a failing flyback transformer and possibly taking a transistor or two with it.
