I download the pictures from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 and have them automatically erase from the camera once they're downloaded. When I check to see if the images are gone it seems fine. It says there are no images to view. But when I take new photos and download them, all the old ones download again, even though they don't show up on the camera.
Glad the format solved your problem.

Are you using the computer to erase them? If so, your camera doesn't recognize any operations you do with your computer. The next time you finish the download, format the card in the camera to completely erase it.

They download again. It is very strange. All I can think that is different is that I don't have the camera software loaded on my new computer. I tried to find it online but no luck. It's happening each time I try downloading on my computer (Asus 1000HE), on my husband's mac or on a clients pc laptop, none of which have the software from the camera them.
They are downloading again. It is very strange. The only thing I can think might be the problem is that I'm loading them on computers that don't have the camera software loaded on them. I recently got a new computer and it's been happening since then. It also happens when I try to load them on other computers, so it's not just my computer. I tried to find the software online but no luck.
Thanks for the help. I reformatted the card and it got rid of them. Cheers!
Do you have any folders created on the memory card?
Instead of erasing the pictures, have you tried formatting the card?
Are they downloading again, or do they simply already exist in whatever folder you download into?
Try creating a new folder and downloading into it. If the old pictures download again, then something really strange is going on.
