Hi does the amp go into protection mode? or does the sound dip and amp stays on? if it goes into protection mode there's a good chance your running the amp wrong. If it dips and stays on its a power problem that can be fixed by adding a farad capacitor.. thank you for using Fixya.com

Why left door speaker only works when when I turn up the volume?

Could be a connector or a connection is bad or loose,
or something in the wires.
The speaker seems to work so it could also be output from the player its self.

I have the following setup: AV Receiver: Pioneer

Very common problem with today's receivers. Receivers made today don't have a true preamp section in the amplifier and do not amplify the sound to the extent of an older receiver. I have large 15" front speakers on my system, and have stuck with my 15 year old receiver just because I know that a new receiver will not have the power to drive them well. Many of the newer receivers need to be turned up to 50-60% before you can even hear anything from the speakers.

No audio from mini input jack on Pioneer SupertunerIIID 50w x4

The mini jack was not designed to work in the manner in which you are trying to use it. The stereo output is always going to be at a higher output rate than the amplifier output. if you want to use an MP3 player with your stereo you will have to purchase a head unit with a built-in MP3 input or deal with the lower rate of volume.

Pioneer system Query

usually red, black, yellow for the power.. the rest are for the accessories.. ie. speaker, optional amplifier power on trigger.

black goes to the ground or chassis.
red goes to ignition (so the head unit willl only power on when the ignition is in ACC or accessory)
yellow goes directly to the battery but fused.
