If you have a program that indicates the following when in the process of pulling a report:

"Press any key to pause/stop"

Then it may be that a key was touched while you were printing.

This is the case with our current billing program.

The "data" cable for a printer either is:
* USB -- a small almost-square socket, less than 1/2 inch (1 centimeter),
* parallel-port -- a very-wide connector, more than 2 inches (5 centimeters).

Some printers have *BOTH* connectors.

Determine which connector(s) you have, and buy a cable.
Often, a "Thrift Store" will have the "parallel-port" cable for a dollar.
Don't pay more than $4 for a "USB" cable.
If you're buying a USB cable, make sure that there is a "square" end -- some USB cables have a smaller "mini-USB" connector, in order to connect to a digital camera.

My Epson FX-1050 matrix printer stops printing in the middle of the page. It also will not go offline. I have to turn off the printer and turn back on. Same thing keeps happening. I've cleaned the area and...
what type of operating system are you using?, if so pls try to update your driver. or install and reinstall that particular driver.

My Epson LQ-570+ won't print. The data light does not come on when I send something to be printed.
1. Please turn the printer off.
2. Ensure that you have plenty of paper loaded, and that the interface cable is disconnected from the computer.
3. Press and hold down the "CONDENSED" and "FONT" buttons and turn the printer on. Continue to hold the buttons down for 3 to 5 seconds until the printer beeps.
4. Release the buttons.

Cross printing
I'm not sure exactly what your issue is, but Epson printers should be well supported as far as drivers are concerned. Do you have the correct driver loaded? If you are trying to use a Tally driver with the Epson printer, this may not work right.

Also, when printing from Windows, some older printers print only in a single direction, from left to right, instead of bi-directional (left to right & right to left).

I've used a few different Epson dot matrix printers, and problems have been few.
