Samsung syncmaster 2220 blinking blue light and no image display

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

Samsung 906vw blank screen

if the power light indicator is just blinking with no display, you must checked the power supply the common cause bulging electrolytic capacitor. just replace with the same value and rating then the problem solved.

The monitor does not power up. no power light comes on, there is nothing that shows up on the screen. All cables are well connected and yes the power switch is on.

check by changing the power cord if this does not solve the problem the fault is in the power of the monitor better call technician or take it to the service centre

Hey Experts! I need assistnace. My Samsung 2043BWX 20" monitor is black (or blank). I do have a flashing blue LED next to the power. When I plug the monitor in a power supple without being connected to the...

Actually, the ultra high voltage 'charger' for the florecence (a.k.a. your back light)has gone Kaput...

If your lucky, someone will have a monitor like yours that has the back light come on, but no picture (should get a similar blinking light situation, but a different code. Like... blink, hold, blink blink, hold, blink). In this situation (if your comfortable doing it) you can swipe the exciter from that monitor and put it in your monitor. Obviously this is a more economical way of repairing the monitor.

Just to be on the safe side (as the repair is blindingly easy. 6 screws, pop out, pop back in) DON'T touch any of the back side components. You WILL shock the supreme **** out of yourself. Between the heavy duty capacitors and the ultra high gain transformers on those things you could jump start a bus. So don't be fooled... those little transformers pack a mean sting.

Hope this helps...

Monitor appears to be in permanent standby mode - - black screen and blinking blue power light. It is a Gateway FPD2185W monitor. It will not turn off or on. Unplugging and re-plugging changes nothing. ...

Look for bad caps with bulging top in the power supply. I would replace all 10 with PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY. Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Nothing on the screen at startup

If you cant get into the setup menu then I would think the monitor is defective, you did not state if you hooked up the monitor to a computer that has a vga port that works.

THE WINOWS STARTUP SHOWS ON SCREEN ON/OFF BUTTON IS BLUE

Is your keyboard also wireless? Check batteries on all wireless devices. If batteries are fine, restart your computer (hold down your power button until your computer shuts down unless you have a reset button) and then try unplugging and plugging back in your wireless receiver, then hit your connect buttons starting with your keyboard followed by your mouse.

Blue power button flashing with blank screen

This is most likely the power inverter board in the monitor - this is common in many monitors. If it started taking longer and longer to display an image, and the power light is blinking on-and-off, that's the problem. You can confirm that it's the monitor and not your computer or the cable by plugging in another monitor if you have one to try.

If it's under warranty, send it back, if not, there are inverter boards for many common models of LCD monitors that are replaceable. The board can run anywhere from $50 on up. Depending on how old it is, you may find it better to just replace it with a gently used one from ebay.
