Wml540 Hotpoint wml540 not spinning or unlocking door, is draining though

is the belt worn or old-its possible strechted-is there a belt tensioner that must be working freely also-cheers Denny

Check belt hasn't snapped/ come off,,,then check motor action,,,,put on spin and tap motor gently see if it helps

Wire or component is shorting out. You may have to hire someone to find and repair it.

hi sharon, i had simular problem, if your waste outlet from your machine to kitchen sink is pushed on to sink waste sometimes held with jubilee clip, disconnect it and check weather its clear cos it can get build up of ****** and stop water from draining, hope this helps.

The above is a load of rubbish, I had my machine to bits because of this advice and it got me no where. The advice may be okay for most washing machines, but not the WML540. I instead got a qualified chap out and he fit it without removing anything. He simply fit the seal (make sure you have the correct one as mine was too big) with the door open. Then put the seal around the drum and fixed the seal in place with the metal spring (he used a screwdriver to assist him). Then did the same for the front.

I now have a working machine again.

Word of warning - unless you know what you are doing, I would suggest leaving well alone and get an expert around...or a round expert!

maybe the concrete balancing weight has come loose and the fact that most of the water has been drained off when you turn it off for 10 seconds it does not have the one-sided affect anymore also check the damping springs as one may have come off in the violent spin eric

First try unplugging the washer machine for about fifteen minutes or so. Then plug it back in. If the problem still there, then it is the board. It can be fix.

Clean the filter and pump

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WML540 washing machine and after the wash and the rinses, all the lights start flashing and the programme will not go any further.
I would like to know what is causing this and how to solve it.
