I bought this dryer from Lowe's May '08. No problems until today. Made a loud squeeking noise at first, now more of a ball bearing-grinding noise. Service man coming out tomorrow morning. Out of warranty, of course, paid $900.00 and not even 2 years old.

Four years later I still have this same dryer. The noise was a weed eater strip my husband had left in his pocket. But the heating element went out earlier this year. My husband watched some youtube videos and purchased the part from an appliance repair center in the area and had it fixed in less than a day.

My GE DPSB620ECWW does not light up the pannel or

Check circuit breaker at the house electric panel, if good, check for voltage (220/240)volts at the receptacle that the dryer power cord plugs into, if good, check for voltage(220/240)volts at the dryer terminal block where the dryer power cord connects to the dryer, if good, check voltages at the dryer power transformer, should be 220/240 volts for motor, and 110/115 volts control power for dryer controls, you should find the failure within these inspections/testing.
Good Luck !

The dryer doesnt get hot enough to dry clothes

Pull the dryer out and remove the lint hose . Turn on the dryer and feel if there is good air flow and if you feel heat . If there is good air flow and heat , dry a load of clothes , to see if they dry normally .
If there is not good air flow , then the blower wheel is probably stripped and needs to be replaced . If there is good air flow and heat , then the problem is in the vent ducting , between the dryer and to where it vents to the outside . Dryer could be pushed back too far , causing the hose to " kink " , restricting the air flow to the outside .
Remember , a dryer either heats or doesn't heat . If no heat , then a dryer problem exists . If heat , but dryer does not dry , then a vent problem is the cause ( except for maytag , which the blower wheel sometimes strips out ) .

No heat

if it's a gas dryer, it's the thermal fuse. if it's an electric dryer, it's the thermal cut-off located on the heating element housing. good luck bud :)
