How do i get the channels to change on vx10 radio selector does not seem to change them radio recently repaired by yaesu and user manual not much help

You mean FT-225RD not DR ?

The RD is a base station all mode 2 meter rig. Older model.
Set the Channel switch to VFO.
Use the Band selector to set the vfo to 144, 145, 146, or 147 mhz.
Then turn the vfo knob to select the frequency.

It sounds as though you're set in "memory recall" mode, when you want to be in "VFO" mode. Do you have the user manual?

Not that I'm aware of, instead of backup battery, your unit has an EEPROM, which is the memory storage facility, and if this fails, then there's your answer, it will need replacement.

If this is the case and you're not technically minded, then take it to a 2-way radio service centre, preferably yaesu authorised, and have them make an assesment and give you a quote re: repairs, otherwise if you know any HAM RADIO operators out there, ask them to assist, it wiould cast far less that way.

1. Remove battery.
2. Look for memory switch in the upper right hand corner
3. Sswitch this switch to the off position this should erase any settings that may be stored in the radio.
4. wait five minutes then turn switch back on and replace battery.
