Dell E151FPp LCD Monitor

When monitor is in "sleep" mode (amber power light), moving mouse normally causes monitor to power up and power light changes to green.

Now when I move the mouse, the power light starts flashing green and the monitor screen briefly flashes with the power light. The monitor screen is black when the power light flashes off. The flashing power light is unresponsive to the power button. The first time this happened I was able to reset the monitor by unplugging the power cord. The second time it happened I had to unplug and replug the power cord several times to wake the monitor up.

I have a Dell E152 FPb monitor that is doing the same thing. Works fine as long as it is stays on. If the computer
goes into sleep or hibernation mode, the monitor will not come back on
when I try to wake it up. Power light blinks (green, orange, off,
green, orange, etc.) and then the screen blinks with dark lines and
eventually goes off. Pressing the power button does not do anything.
Only way I've gotten it to work again is to unplug the power cord in
the back of monitor. Updated Video driver, but same problem happens again after hibernation or sleep mode. Any idea?

That means your monitor is not receiving a signal from your video card.

A couple things to check:
*Make sure your cable is ok - unplug and replug the cable to see if it is a loose connection. Or try a different cable.

*Make sure your computer is not in sleep mode - Move your mouse or otherwise ensure your computer is awake and sending a video signal

*If you have another computer, try the monitor on the other system and see if it works.

Hello,
May be the problem comes from the Cpu.
Try to see if the cable from the monitor is firmly connected to the cpu.
One thing more may be the vga card is having problem.
Try to test the screen with another Cpu. Or the cpu with another monitor.
The amber mode is normal as the screen is not receiving signal from the cpu.
At times the memory chip also report this problem (no display or sleep mode)
Do hear any beep sound or any other Errors??
OK try this

Sleep mode on a dell monitor

Hold down the function key on your keyboard (lower left hand side of your keyboard between the control key and the windows key) and the F8 key simultaneously. This cycles through all monitor set up modes.

Stuck in sleep mode

Make sure all of the fans on your computer are free from dust and dirt. Unplug the computer from the mains and open the casing, hoover away any dust and dirt, then take out clean and resit your RAM and your Graphics card.

This could be caused by dirty RAM, dirty Graphics or just a build up of dust causing it to overheat.

I hope this helps

Cannot get me monitor out of sleep mode, please help?

Hi

Pls check the power management properties in device manager to check if the option to wake the computer from sleep for the keyboard and mouse are enabled.
You may also try to change the power plan or create a new power plan and check if you are able to wake the computer from sleep.
If this problem started a few days back, then you may try to do a system restore.
