The Hoover sensor washer 'n dryer machine drum does not turn to wash or spin. The machine colllects and pumps water
You probably need new carbon brushes on main wash motor . which off at wall and unplug . remove motor and check carbons .If you cannot do this your self call your local engineer .
This happened to me yesterday, the machine filled up and emptied the water but did not spin on any program. And I was ready to throw away the machine and buy a new since it is 4-5 years old. But today I checked on FixYa to see if there was a simple solution to this problem. I found quite a few answers that suggested to change the carbon brushes, and after watching a YouTube video of this operation on another machine I found out that it didn't look too hard to do this (remove the back panel, remove the rubber band that spins the tumbler, disonnect a cable, and remove two screws that holds the motor in place, and take the motor out, then replace the two brushes) and since the machine was not working I couldnt possible make it worse since the other solution was to just dispose of it. And I found the correct spare part on the net that I needed so was ready to order. But found out I wanted to check if I were able to remove the motor first. So I removed the back panel. And I was looking for the cable that supplies power to the motor. To the left of the motor there is a cable (that consist of lots of smaller cables) that is plugged into something else via a plastic connector (this might be the cable that supplies the power to the motor, the one I was looking for). I tried to wiggled this cable to unplug it from its socket but noticed that it was only halfway plugged in. So I plugged it all the way in. Then i trid to turn on the machine. And now the tumbler is spinning again and everything works fine. So turns out that the whole problem that almost made me throw away the whole machine was a cable not properly plugged in. It has probably been gradually unplugging during the vibrations while in the spin cycles over the years, and had finally unplugged to the point that the motor didn't get power any more.
So am very happy that I checked FixYa first before throwing it away. So if you have the same problem as me with the machine tumbler not turning at all then use 5 minutes to open the 5 screws that holds the back panel in place, and just reach inside and see if this (or any other cable) is just not totally plugged in. This is something that absolutely anybody can do. If everything is plugged in properly than you might try to remove the motor and change the carbon brushes if you feel like giving it a try.
