We just moved in Friday and our landlord has no idea why the water doesn't dispense and the ice isn't being made. I checked the water line from the wall and the water is flowing just fine...so the fridge is getting water. My landlord has removed the filter, but hasn't put a new one back in yet...I tried putting the old filter back in, but the water is still not dispensing. Any suggestions? Thanks
Our water dispenser has not worked as long as we've had this
refrigerator (about a year). It magically began working a week or so ago, and either at that time, or shortly thereafter, the
ice maker stopped working. Water now dispenses (slowly) but no ice. Any thoughts?

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze
More than likely the user interface board that controls that portion of the machine is probably bad, or, worse case scenario the main control board which has the overall say so for the machine has gone out which isn't uncommon either. My best advice is if your going to do it yourself buy your parts from www.repairclinic.com because of their return policy which you can return any part you bought even if installed/
I have a LG GRP207TUJA side by side freezer, which has a water, ice, crushed ice dispenser. There is a button to select which mode of dispenser. The freezer just appears to be cycling through all the selections all by itself and make the bleeping noise as it moves from one selection to another...any ideas
Your ice maker works off a different side than the water dispenser. Most times the water control valve is the problem yet it has 2 sides one for water and the other for ice. You can check the ice maker by filling with tap water. Let it freeze and if it dumps the ice and tries to refill I would say the water control valve part number 4389177 will need to be replaced. Sea Breeze
There is a door switch that senses the door being closed for the dispenser to work. The water problem could be a plugged filter if you have one. Was the frig extremely cold recently? The water resevoir can freeze up. (its located behind the crispers) It could be the switches in the dispenser itself. Process of elimination will lead to the problem. Eric
one possible solution is that the ice maker water valve has failed (solenoid). I would try switching the wires on the water valves and see if water goes into the ice maker when you push the water dispenser button, if it does the valve is ok. If you go this far go ahead and fill the ice maker with water ( about half to two thirds full) switch wiring back as first found and see if maker will freeze and dump ice, if it does ok, if not the problem is probably in the ice maker.
Some models need the filter inplace to pass water. First check it again with a new filter in just to be sure the filter isn't clogged. Next... do you hear any click or such noise from the rear of the unit when you push the water dispenser? The solenoid valves may be bad. Also check the valves at the back of the frige to see if the filter screen isn't clogged blocking water from getting into the frige all together. Let us know what you find and post again.
