Right, the converter boxes are only for use with a regular TV antenna, not needed or usable with satellite TV or cable TV (even if you don't use a cable box).

Hi there Im afraid your TV is not going to be digital, which means you will need a convector box to receive the digital channels. Hope this helps TV_Doctor
The converter must have an "analog pass-through" feature to view existing stations until the changeover.
Not all of the 'approved' boxes had the feature and you didn't include the model number so we could check for you.
If you were dependent on an outdoor antenna, you will still need it for the (any) converter box.
Yes it should work, connect the RCA video out (yellow connector DTV Converter) to the RCA video in (yellow connector TV set). Then connect the RCA Audio out (Red-Right White-Left DTV converter) to the RCA audio in (Red-Right White-Left TV set).
Then setup your converter box according to the manufacture's instructions.
You Dont need one your set is HD. So when the switch happens you are good to go. The only TVs that are going to need converter boxes is those who do not have HD or only have antenna.
It might help to find out what company made your Durabrand(walmart) tv. Try the codes listed under their name. Model numbers starting with DTV or DU are Orion, BH Haier, IWT or DWT Funai.
This particular set does NOThave a digital tuner. However, if you have cable or satelite, a converter will not be needed. Only if you use an external antenna will you require a converter box.

Dear friend, Try connecting a pair of Headphones to the Headphone socket in the front of the TV. Do you get sound in both headphones? If yes, then it means that the Right speaker has become faulty. No sound in Right Headphone? Then the Audio Amplifier IC has to be replaced.
