Your phone uses sounds and vibrations to alert you, including ringtones, app notifications, alarms, and navigation feedback. You can customize any of these sounds, as well as control their volumes.
Change default ringtone for incoming calls
Touch "Settings" icon from Home screen or under main menu.
Touch "Sound".
Touch "Phone ringtone." You will see a list of ringtones
Ringtones can be set for the whole phone in Settings-->Sounds-->Ringtone.
You can set a ringtone for each of your contacts by editing the contact in the Phone app or the Contacts app. When you touch the "Edit" button when viewing any individual contact, you can assign a specific ringtone and vibration, and text tone and vibration, to that contact.
You need to send the sound that you recorded and saved in your phone to yourself in a PIX (picture) message. No Subjects, Text or Pictures are necessary to have in this message, as only the sound itself is required. Once the message arrives on your phone, choose "Options", then "Save As Ringtone". Once you have saved it in that manner, go to "Get PIX and FLIX", then "My Ringtones". It will be stored as a fully usable ringtone there.
Try this: Under Get It Now, choose Music & Tones; then choose My Sounds.
Highlight the sound you want to use as a ringtone and send it to yourself. When you get the text message, choose the option "save as ringtone". Now you can use it as a ringtone.
I had the same problem. I hooked my phone back up to iTunes and synced my phone. Ringtone disappeared from phone, but remained in my computer's iTunes. Then I added it back to my phone through iTunes by syncing ringtones specifically. Here is step by step:
1. Plug in iPhone
2. Sync Phone
3. Click on iPhone, open Ringtones tab
4. Check "Sync ringtones" box and Select your Ringtone
5. Click Sync
This worked for my phone. Hope it helps. I used my phone to download ringtone.
Even though I've reset the master volume, etc. the ringtones will not work, I can't play them and the phone will not ring. In tools, sounds setting, call sounds, call ringtone: help
