There are usually several versions of the closed captioning. Cycle through them to see which ones work. Turn one set on...wait a few minutes...if that does not bring up the captioning during normal shows (not commercials)...try the next set.

How do I get the closed caption off my tv

I have found that Closed Caption in a function of your television service and not of the TV itself. We have had cable TV and used the menu function on the cable remote to find CC and select 'off'; we now have DirectTV cable TV and use the remote for the receiver to select CC and 'off' on the drop down menu of CC. We get to CC by pressing 'info' on the remote and a list of options appears at the top of the screen, one of which is "CC". Pressing the right arrow key moves the cursor and when on "CC" pressing "SELECT" creates a drop down list; "OFF" is the option to turn off Closed Captions.

Different types TV service (over the air with antenna will likely require changing the TV mode to CC off on none), but if you use cable (Time Warner, Charter, ATT Uverse, etc.) or satellite (Dish Network or DirectTV) then the tuner or receiver will likely have your CC option.

How do i get caption only on mute

On newer Sony TVs you press the CC button to cycle through the available settings for Closed Captions (CC): On, Off, and On when
Muting.

However, it looks like your factory remote control lacks a CC button and your TV menu appears to have a simple Off/On option for what Sony calls Caption Vision. If that is the case then you would need to manually turn on Caption Vision when you mute the television. That hardly seems like the solution you're after.

If you had an aftermarket remote control that could record macros you might be able to program it so that when you press the mute button the TV would mute and also turn on Closed Captioning. This would require the proper remote control and some expertise.

Sansui tvs2746 how to turn on closed captioning

If its remote control have a button marked "CC", pressing it once should make the Closed caption out. Pressing it again, the closed caption will re-appear. It will work like a toggle switch.
If there is no such button on the remote control, you have to surf its menu options, to find out the closed caption option, and there you will have access to turn it On/Off. Refer its user manual for more details. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Need Closed Captioning

If you have the original remote control, there will be a button marked "CC", and pressing it once, the closed caption funciton will turn OFF, and for an other press, it will re-appear. Now, here you are using a universal remote control. So it will be difficult to make closed caption. Try to enter its function menu by using present remote control, where you can make this funicion OFF, if you could enter into it.

Cant turn off closed caption

sherrillbrom

With our VIP receiver models, you have an option to turn on/off closed caption through the receiver. Press the Menu button on the remote, which will display the Main Menu on the TV screen. Press 8 (Preferences) and then press 6 (Closed Caption). On the Closed Caption screen, press 1. On the Closed Caption On/Off screen, select CC Off and then press Done from the TV screen (using your DISH remote). This will turn the feature off on the receiver. Test to see if it is turned off by watching a program that has CC. If it still appears, then the feature is activated through your TV. Please refer to your TV manual to turn the feature off. I hope this helps.

Need to know how to put the tv on close caption

Captioned programs are marked in TV listings by "CC". so press the cc button on the remote and the closed caption option will be applied.press that cc button again to turn off the closed caption option.
1) Check the size and manufactured year of your television. If it was made after 1993 and is larger than 13 inches, it has a closed captioning system built into it. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a separate closed caption system, which are available at a number of online outlets.
  1. 2)Turn on your TV and access the menu for closed captioning. The precise location of the menu varies by television set. Most are accessible by pressing the "Audio" or "Set Up" menu on your remote, then scrolling down to the "CC" or "Closed Captioning" option. Check your owner's manual for precise instructions.
  2. 3)Turn the closed captioning option to the "On" position. It will then run closed captions for every program that broadcasts them. Newer sets may allow you to adjust the size, font and colors of the closed captioning letters to fit your individual tastes.
  3. 4)Tune to a particular program for a few minutes to make sure the closed captions are working. Note that while many broadcasts run closed captioning, not all of them do. If the captions don't appear, check your TV listing to ensure the program includes them.
  4. 5)If you're watching a DVd on your TV, access the DVD's "Set Up" menu. It should have captioned options, which allow you to show captions in English and possibly other languages as well.
  5. thanks.

I need to activate CC for my Dad, Please help I have to go to work. I have a flat screen SOYO

Determine if closed captioning is available on the program that you've selected. In your program guide, the letters "CC" should appear at the end of the description.
Locate the closed captioning option on your remote. Some remotes have a "CC" button that you simply need to push to activate closed captioning
Locate the closed captioning option in your television's menu if there is no "CC" button on your remote. To do this, push the "menu" button on the remote control. The closed captioning option will probably be in the same section as the language function.
Set the closed captioning option to "on." Within several seconds, you should see the text appear on your screen.
To use closed captioning for DVDs, look for the "CC" label on the lower back section of the DVD case where it lists audio information. Turn on your TV's closed captioning and you should see the captioning like you do on a television program. Alternately, some DVDs include English subtitles that you can turn on in the setup/language menu of the DVD.
Thank you.
