I just changed the toner in my printer and it keeps blinking need toner - I tried putting the old one back in and it cleared the FLASHING "Needs Toner" light...I tried the new one again and the NEEDS TONER came back on. I just installed a 2ND, BRAND NEW toner and it is FLASHING again. WTH?? Please HELP!
Have you removed the plastic strip from the toner which secures your toner.
Thanks a ton mike, Now a days I've stopped attending freebies just cause of such askers. Atleast, those with premium do reply these people don't even bother to reply and allow us to work on the second step. Well, I do accept my fault on this one. I should have asked him to take the toner to other machine and check if it works (if feasible) or take another working toner from other machine and check on this machine. The matter must have been with a bad chip at homing in the printer section. If I'd have asked the asker to change it you can understand what he would have done.

1- you either got a bad toner ( the chip on it is telling it it is bad)
happens sometimes with recycled toners.
Return it and tell them it is defective.
The chip needs to be replaced.
Try this but doubt it will work,
open front door hold down go button, all lights will flash in sequence wait for it to stop turn off and on and close door.

Of course I have. LOL I'm NOT retarded.
Shannon, no one implied a mental defect of any kind, At the other end of the scale, we do not have psychic powers. The only way to rule things out and trouble shoot is to ask questions.. You would be surprised at how many fixes involve plugging the unit in or checking the batteries. My first question would have been the exact same one as M_28 . The idea is question - answer - question - answer.... - solution Not question - attitude - downrate - no one touches your problem again. Fix the rating. You'll be glad you did.
This is a chip problem. The old toner cartridge will not print, because the chip has been written to informing the machine that "this is the old empty cartridge." Whereas the new cartridge did not reset the machine with its new chip, so either your machine did not read the chip, or the chip is bad to begin with. New machines which use these chips are a pain. I can send you an aftermarket 1320 cartridge chip and you can stick it on your cartridge, or just return the cartridge from where you purchasd for replacement.
You may need to use a new toner made by HP or a good compatible toner with a good chip. Chip is definitely the issue. Please give me a call if you have any questions or toner needs. Damien, iPrint Technologies, 818.700.7419.
