I have a slow drain in a new American Standard "Lifetime" whirlpool tub. Could it be a venting problem ?

Newly installed tub with new drain and p trap 5 ft from old one has a loud moaning sound when draining.

Does the sound go away when you block the overflow with palm of hand?... and slow to drain also?

5 ft. shouldn't have made a difference (never say never).

We have an American Standard lifetime whirlpool tub with the pop up drain (white). However, the pop up drain plug has always been tempermental but now it no longer wants to stay down.

Chances are that the drain assembly was not part of the tub but a 'generic' plumbing part. Is this pop up drain the type that you push down and it clicks closed and push down and then it pops up? It unscrews from the drain fitting and you can get a replacement at a big box store. A better pop up replacement is one called a Rapid-fit. It drains faster.

DRAIN

I take it that you removed the drain trip linkage and stopper through the vent hole .
You must now run a small hand or small power snake the less than eight feet to open the drain.
You can also plug up the vent, tightly and  try a flat plunger on the tub drain .
