I find that Chrome adds advertising to their web browser. The best add blocker is add block plus. Not only do you block adds, but you can block any element that you do not want to see.
I also use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (I bought it so its the Premium version - which constantly scans automatically - not much money) - It picks up the Chrome advertising time and time again every day.
There are a few things you can try if Google Chrome crashes or doesn't work when you try to download it:
Check your internet connection: Make sure that you have a stable internet connection and that your computer is not blocking the download.
Restart your computer: Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve issues with Chrome not working or crashing.
Check your antivirus software: Some antivirus software may block Chrome from downloading or running. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software and then try downloading Chrome again.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve issues with Chrome not working or crashing. To do this, go to the settings of your browser and look for the option to clear your cache and cookies.
Try downloading Chrome in a different browser: If you're unable to download Chrome in your current browser, try downloading it in a different browser (such as Firefox or Edge) and then install it.
Check the version of your operating system: Google Chrome may not work properly if your operating system is not up to date. Make sure you have the latest version of your operating system installed before downloading Chrome.
Try downloading the Chrome offline installer: If you are unable to download chrome using the regular installer, you can download the offline installer from the official
Hey Pam, SHOCKWAVE is a browser add-on application( plug-in) required to open and see some content on some websites... In the case of Google Chrome, "More so than other browsers, Google Chrome is particularly susceptible to a specific but not uncommon situation in which it simply will not coexist peacefully with Adobe Flash-frequent slow downs and annoying crashes are common as a result." To repair, see ref below good luck
I do not think that this a problem with Google Chrome. It is probably just a problem with your internet. Something that you could try is...
Restarting your modem (and router if you have one). To do this, you can't just turn them on then off again. That will not solve any connection errors. What you need to do instead is a full restart. To do this, you need to shut down your computer, then shut off your modem (and router if you have one) and wait 5 or 10 minutes. This will send a message back to internet provider, and they will manually restart it for you. When the time is up, turn everything back on and see if Chrome crashes.
A way to test that it is actually Google Chromes fault, is to try using a different Web Browser and see if it still works then.
When you open too many windows on Google Chrome, you are making the browser take up more memory space.More the tabs you open, More the memory space you consume, more dangerous it is for the application(Google Chrome). Since the chrome.exe cannot withstand too much of load on it,it will crash. You can observe that chrome crashed with too many tabs open will crash on restart too. It is because of the same reason that you make chrome to consume more memory for its operation.
Please uninstall and reinstall the google crome.
If you do not want the google crome then uninstall it and make your Internet Explorer as default browser. You will not get the prompt.
