Help - Miele Dryer Model T9800 problem!

The drum of my Miele dryer model #T9800 does not turn - the motor runs, but there is a loud "whirring" noise. Could it be that the belt has come loose? ]Am I able to fix it myself, rather than wait for a Miele repair technician which I am told takes up to three weeks

The belt is most likely broken. The front drum bearing seal may have worn out and caused this to happen. Call Miele. You'll be better off.

I have a similar problem - any idea what this would cost for parts ( miele charges a flat 199.00 for labor.

Dryer makes loud whirring noise when try turn on, won't start

I am guessing that it does not do anything after it makes the noise?. If you hear something running after the whirring noise, but the drum is not turning it is possible the belt has broken or slipped off the motor pully. If you hear no noise after the first startup and it completely stops making any sounds then it may be a motor problem. I am no pro, just a do it yourselfer. www.repairclinic.com can help ya more than me. Just have the model number ready when you go there and look at the symptoms. Hope this helps.

Dryer drum not turn

It sounds like the belt that drives the drum may have failed. You can check to see if this is the problem by turning the dryer on and listening for the motor running.

A loud clunking noise - the vent/filter check light came on plastic broken parts which looks like a fan or something.

Hi
Yes, your right, it is the blower fan for the dryer, something may have gotten down the filter element housing and broke it, or just from heat and time.
Yes, you can fix it if your somewhat mechanically inclined.
It is not a hard job, but must be done correctly.
I will send you a webpage with some parts choices.
I do not know where you location is so I cannot send you to the direct webpage.

Dryer belt t9800 keeps breaking

worn felt seal on the front of the drum. felt has worn away exposing the rubber, when the dryer gets warm the rubber gets sticky. this causes loud vibrations and friction. the drum wont turn so the belt breaks. i would not trust this job to any one but a miele tech, as it is very complicated and someone that does not know how to work on this dryer can cause more harm than good.

Miele T9800 stopped, made a humming noise and now it makes a horrible noise

felt seal on the front of the drum is bad. call miele for service. this is not a repair that a normal company can perform. you have to get the part from miele, and it is very complicated to repair.

The dryer appears to work normally, except the drum does not spin, and after about a minute, the 'buzzer' comes on.

Loud rattling sound, drum still turns

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine, Unplug the dryer, remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve you noise problem.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps
