I just bought a 40'' Rca television and can't get my Dish network remote to program to it. I have went through the codes in the DN book and the search for the code but none work can anyone help me
Since you have tried several codes for your TV, the next procedure to attempt would be a power scan. I have provided a link with the instructions. The link is:

Hello, my name is Becki, with DISH Network. Here are some steps to program that remote to your TV.
1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote 2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below) 3. Press the # (POUND) button 4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

You have hopefully gotten this resolved by now, but here are some simple steps if you still have questions, or need any more help.
To program the remote to the TV:
1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Punch in a 3-digit code (provided below for RCA tvs)
3. Press the # (pound) button
4. Try to power the tv on/off, and change the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start again at step 1 with a different code.
5. Press the SAT button once the remote is fully programmed
I contacted RCA and they said that the tv won't work with most universal remotes because the IR signal used is "new technology." They said that newer universal remotes may work with it.
Personally, I think it's great to push new technologies, but not so smart to push it onto devices that are being sold at Walmart. I went to Walmart for a deal, and I don't want to spend $150 on a remote that will work with that "deal" I bought.
The word from RCA technical support is that the remote for the L32HD31R operates on a different frequency and there is currently NO universal remote on the market that will work with the set. They say that they have plans to market a universal remote and that they are working with other manufactuers of remotes but there is no resolution or time frame available. In short, you will have to use two remotes and keep checking the RCA website for a breakthrough.
I'm not sure that I would have bought the TV if I'd known.
