How do you fix the white screen of death on the Motorola Rival without taking it back to the store?I have had it for a while but i rarely drop it and its only gotten wet once. Why did this happen and how can i fix it?

The white screen of death is a flex problem.
The flex of a phone is what connects the screen to the board of the phone. it is found in most flip and slide phones.
When you flip and slide these type of phones after a while the flex gets weak and that causes the white screen you see.
The only solution is to have your flex changed,that will definitely solve the problem..

Actually, the best solution is to slide a thin piece of stiff plastic on top of the sim after it has been inserted in to the phone. The problem is that the sim is not making enough of a connection with the phone and the plastic will enable the connection to be more stable. It worked on my phone and I had intermittent white screen the complete white screen and messages saying insert sim card and no number recognised followed by more white screen. Now my phone works perfectly
