I have the Samsung BP-P1500 Blu-Ray player and on about 75% of the movies I put in will not work. It will work until I get to the main menu and when I select to play movie. It will load and send me back to the previews and won't play the movie. Any ideas???

If you hit "Disc Menu" on the remote just as the fireworks start, you won't have to go through the entire Previews section, and then the disc seems to work fine...

The CRM codes changed, I was getting this on some new disks, Avatar and the happening.

Upgraded to the latest cod and all is OK again.

try cleaning the iris in the player with a cleaner disk

I have a Samsung BD-P1600 and was having similiar problem...played thru previews but would not play. Instead of just powering off/on... I pulled the plug on the ac cord out and left it out about 20 minutes and it now works !

dudes really simple as i couldnt watch 2012 amazing movie !
get a usb stick go to the site that is your make or model say for example: ( philips blu-ray bdp3000 go to philips and software and downloads after selected model )

download the firmware open as winRAR or documents u should see the choice of two folders select them both and extract them to your usb stick and done !
stick in your blu-ray player settings advanced software usb and download and wait should not take more than 2 mins for everything to be working !!!!

it seems that samsung is posting it's firm updates online @ samsung.com i had same problem with my BD-UP5000 its connected to the internet when i go to the menue to update on the bluray player it said i had the latest update went online and found a new firmware on there web site, check samsung web site

hi i have had this you sometimes get a delay on the sound when you boot up i just changed my hdmi lead and it rectified it try using a 1.3 instead of 1.2 hdmi lead.

Has your husband verified you have the most current Firmware for your unit? this should take care of your issue
