Where do we find the activation code for our tomtom one, 3rd edition. We received a refurb tomtom one, 3edition for christmas & trying to set up, asking for activation code & we can't find one.

You may not likely find/get the activation code(s) for your map(s) since your map versions are quite old ... current map versions are 920... Your other option is to purchase a current map from TomTom.
You can go to tomtom.com (and if you haven't registered your GPS device, register the GPS device (on tomtom.com) against your name, etc.,) and purchase a map (of your choice). With this purchase, you will download the map (software and data), and an activation code to validate the map. After that you should be able to use the GPS device (for the purchased maps).

We don't have any access to thsese codes.

My solution after probs with 2 different units: Buy a Tom Tom. I did and it works great.

Buy another brand, tomtom sucks! I am so disgusted with them. Brand new one, died in 3 months. sent me a refurb, died in 5 months.

IMPORTANT:
Make a full backup, better safe, than sorry...
Do this backup vith explorer or similar,
just copy ALL content from device to a folder on your computer.
Remember to set explorer to show hidden and system files.

Connect device to pc, update device via TomTom Home....

Call TomTom support 1-866-486-6866 (www.tomtom.com) and they will help you pretty quickly with that problem.
