Maybe you handset was registered to another base at one time or another. The mmessage out of range will show up also if it cant see the base.


If you have a DS6101 you can manually deregister the handset without having the original base it was registered too by doing the following steps:


Called the manufactuer.... To do this enter on the handset you want to deregister:

*331734# and press (Menu Key# 1 - top uppermost left button that is unmarked).


This will put the handset back into the register mode.

to change the profile first dial the code *#84666*# then u vl reciv d menu of Factory mode. nw insert yr handsfree in fon first then go to the no.14 item "Headset" & press 'On'. thus u can check yr headset that its working. after that just easily pull out yr handsfree and u vl got the General profile simply.

unplug base from power and phone line take batterie out of handset.If posinle check voltage of batterieIf it test ok put batterie back in handset then place handset in base plug bace to power and phone line..

Nokia Phones usually gets into local mode when you are updating software or doing some software things on them , and main reason why they go into local mode is related with battery connectors because nokia Fbus cables connects through the back cover of the phone and those cables has some resistors to put the phone into local mode !
But the question is why your phone is getting into local mode ?
The problem i believe there must be some kind of water damage with your phone or with your battery !
Solution : You can easily check with another battery if you have one ! Otherwise you have to see some places those can repair your mobile phone

I don't have a second handset, but I'll quote from the instruction manual - Try this,

Regsiter up to 5 GAP cpmatible handsets to your OT150 base. New handsets must be fully charged.

You can use the same handset at home as well as the office by registering it to 2 bases.

1. At the base: press and hold "FIND HANDSET". You hear 2 beeps and the in use light flashes. Youa re now in registration mode.

2. At the handset: Press "OK". scroll down (with down arrow) to "REGISTRATION" and press "OK".

3. "REGISTER" is diplayed. Press "OK". Any free base numbers will flash. Enter the number of the base you want using the keypad.

4. Enter the PIN Number (default = 0000) and press "OK"

5. The handset searches for the base and when registration is complete goes into standby mode.

To test the handset is registered. Press "FIND HANDSET" on the base and the handset should begin to ring. Press "FIND HANDSET" again to stop the ringing.


As I say this is taken word for word (with a few spelling mistakes no doubt) from the instructions. I Hope that it solves your problem.
