No, the Galaxy DX44V is a single final radio. It is a 1969 transistor (tr43) mounted on the rear chassis in between the RF driver amp transistor (tr44) and the antenna jack.
For locations, see the following page:

I have a galaxy dx33hml with 120 channels im trying to tune it to regular channels how should i do this

The hml has not been in production since 2006. If you Love that specific radio the first thing I suggest before attempting to tune or mod replace all the capacitors they may have leaked or dried up especially if left uncovered for a long period. But I would not bother when the galaxy 33hp2 updated the model with dual finals for under a couple hundred dollar. The radio is easily converted with info you could gain from here or a cb forum.

New 44 hp wont recieve

Hi,

According to the heading under Problem with:
Galaxy DX-44HP Mobile Amateur Radio.

If this is correct, Are you a licensed Amateur Radio Operator?

If not, Then You will not be lawfully able to operate any Amateur radio until you are licensed, sorry, but thems the rules, and I'm not going to encourage or help anyone to be able to transmit these radios, without the credentials being made available first.

Cheers,
Peter

I have a galaxy DX 44 that on the AM side after it been on for like 10mins the AM side goes out but the FM side don't

you probably have a thermal problem.Get some mr.freeze and try it again .when the radio goes out spray some Mr.Freeze onto the final area.Just a dash will do,don't want to freeze the parts just want to cool the down quick to see if the radio comes back on. If it does go to the final when it goes back out and spray a little on it .If it comes on then change the final and problem almost solved. Now wait to see if it goes out again , If it does then you have to get a block diagram to work from and spray some Mr.Freeze on the main IC while you're at it. If it comes on then it should be changed .Now that everything is new it had better be working but if not start spraying other componants until the radio comes on and stays on .

I have a galaxy 44v that recieves keys up but know watts come out i have put new finals new voltage regulators b754 and the one in front of it changed the 300v redish " dog tic" thats what we...

  • The Galaxy 44 has 1 final and 1 voltage regulator not "finals." I doubt it is putting nothing out although it may look like it on a watt meter. Check VR16 (low power adjustment for the amp) and VR 13 (High power adjustment) for the amp in the radio. That radio has a variable power so make sure the pots were not turned out of whack. Check VR 14 as well. this is your AMC modulation pot adjustment.

  • Test the driver as well as the pre-driver. Check your microphone to make sure the wiring is good and the PTT is functioning.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

I would like to replace the stock 2SC1969 bipolar transistor with a ERF2030 mosfet transistor in a Galaxy 93T.Can anyone tell me if any caps need to be removed on the amp board since C203 and L33 are not...

The radio you listed "Galaxy DX-93T Base CB Radio" utilizes a 2SC2290 final transistor. This is not a T220 2SC1969 and you cannot install an ERF2030. This is a round and white looking transistor. Replace it with only the same transistor.

Quiet Galaxy DX 44V

Sounds like you have lost a final or a driver transistor if so a shop or reputable repairman is your best answer. You should also have him check your cables and SWR on your antenna system as well as check for loose grounds. Sounds like you had a high SWR and blew out a final transistor. But it could be as simple as a loose component or cold solder joint in the radio. Get professional help.
