Hi,

Before you Proceed, Disconnect the Power Supply, Unplug the Cord and then try to plug in after few minutes, say 30 minutes. If the Problem persists, more likely it's a Faulty Power Supply Board.

You need to have some electronic Experience to Open the TV and then you need to locate the Board. Once you find the Board, you need to pull the wires and try to Look for Swelled / Bulged / Leaked Capacitor. You need to go to Radio Shack or Order Online and then replace that. Once replaced, that would fix the issue. Usually, Bad Caps do have Ammonia kind of odor.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

You need to Open the TV to Repair the Board. The socket could be Fine. But, the main Component of TV is Power Supply Board. You need to Check and Fix that.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

    Hope

    Thanks for your response!!

I would be glad to assist you. But, you need to make sure, you should be careful and would be able to take all Precautions. You need to have Soldering Experience as it would require you to De Solder the Bad Caps and Solder the New Caps. You need to have a Torx Screwdriver, Voltmeter and Magnifying glass.

I am not Discouraging you. But, i do not want you to damage the TV. If you agree and you are sure, you would be able to complete the Repair, let me know so that we could proceed.

    Hope

    i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

If the socket is Ok then the problem seems to be in the main circuit board .

SOURCE: No picture lg flatron w2234s blinking blue light

Hi My screen developed exactly the same problem. It appears to be a hardwear problem associated with the screen it's self. continuity test is ok on the lead so I took it back to the shop under warranty and hey presto, the replacement works. I don't know what the problem is but there are a number of other folks on another thread with the same problem and their entries are dated May 09 too.  Dave

SOURCE: Power Button on (BLUElight)and goes off again. No

This is most likely the power inverter board in the monitor - this is common in many monitors. If it started taking longer and longer to display an image, and the power light is blinking on-and-off, that's most likely the problem.

You can confirm that it's actually the monitor and not your computer or the cable by plugging in another monitor if you have one to try. If it's under warranty, send it back, if not, there are inverter boards for many common models of LCD monitors2.gif that are replaceable. The board can run anywhere from $50 on up. Depending on how old your monitor is, and how much you've invested into it, you may find it better to just replace it with a gently used one from ebay.

Ahh the same thing has happened to my monitor! Mine unfortunately is 1 month over warranty. Apparently this is a common problem with this model!

Testimonial: "Excellent advise and many thanks. But it seems that this model does suffer some problems with this fault and LG knows it."

Doese not want 2 go on !!

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
