3 year old 42in LG LCD TV scrren went blank

You will either have a fault with the inverter board which drives the backlights or a faulty backlight in the screen. If the problem is a backlight then a replacement screen is the only cure. One or the other is breaking down after it has been opn for a certain period of time, have an engineer call out & check with a tester if it is a screen problem.

Yes you need to replace the board LG 6871QYH048B. The board has a short. Check the fuses and one of them should have no continuity
because it is open.

Replace that board and problem solved

Tv screen went blank. When I unplug and plug back in I here a hissing Lg 42 flatron plus 6 years old.

do you have heater voltage because if you are hearing high voltage you may need to replace a resistor and capacitor in the 200v circuit or you could possibly have a anode not seated right arcing on somthing or a bad flyback
