if you mean you have to reset your router to the factory default settings
(note all settings will be lost you will need to reconfigure the router)

To bring the router back to its factory default what you can do here is to reset it using the reset button on the router itself.

To do that using a pen or paper clip press and hold the small reset button on the router for 10 seconds while power is ON and then after that let it go and power off and power on the router and its back now to its factory settings.

what is the model #?
Most netgear routers default to a username of "admin" and password is either " admin ", "password" or it is just blank. Those are the defaults unless someone changed it.
If you cant get in you can hold down the reset button on the back for 30 seconds (while it is plugged into power) and that will set it back to factory default settings then one of the above should work.

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

Reset There are two ways to reset the Router's

factory defaults. Either press and hold the Reset

Button for approximately five seconds, or restore

the defaults from Administration > Factory

There should be a small hole with a red circle around it on the back of the router next to the power plug hole. Use a pin or straighten paper clip to push the tiny button.

per the netgear manual. you need to reset the whole router back to factory defaults.
