you should have a button on your remote that says something like: aspect, pix size, screen size...etc

To enable close cationing on your TV follow this:-

[1] Press "Menu" button on the remote control to appear "Setup" menu on the screen.
[2] Use "Up and Down" arrows on the remote contol to select "Captions/Text" on your screen.
[3] Press "Right or Left " arrows to select any one of the following options. Caption-1, Caption-2, Caption-3, Caption-4 Text-1, Text-2, Text-3, Text-4.
[4] Press enter to return TV viewing.

To turn the caption feature to "On" or "Off'

[1] Press menu key on the remote control to display "Setup" menu.
[2] Using "UP/DOWN" buttons to select captions on your screen.
[3] Press "Right or Left" arrow to switch the captions feature 'ON" or "OFF" or "EZ Mute"
[4] Press enter to continue.

On your remote control find the CCD button and press it until you find the option to turn off the closed caption or select the closed caption option to use only when the sound is muted. If this does not eliminate the problem, you may have a switching problem in the control panel.Try turning off your television for a period of time and then turn it on and try resetting the control. You will probably find the captioning is turned on in the cable box and that's why you haven't been able to get rid of it through the TV. The box remote control should allow you to access the setup menu so you can turn off the captioning. Your cable company should be able to help you if it's not clear from the on-screen information.

if you are watching satellite or cable, make sure that captioning is on on that device also

Have you gone into the menu and located Closed Caption or just caption and turned it off? It might be under the Audio menu or Features.

If you have original remote for t.v. , hit the button under the sleep timer button on remote, and eventually the closed cation words will be removed from the bottom right corner of t.v. Hope this helps , good luck .....

Some TV will not display close caption in HD mode. This is why its Grey out in HD mode. If you switch to regular input, i can bet you your close caption will not be Grey out. The problem you are having is your cable box has close caption enable. You must go into the cable box menu and turn caption off. In some box you may have to call your cable provide for assistant.
