It may be due to virus is running. You can kill the process from task manager or tuneup task manager. After killing the process you will able to quarantine the virus file. Best of luck .

that is bad.you will need to get a virus program that will take this out or at least put it into quarantine asap.
so run a scan now with what ever virus program who have and hope it at least puts it in to quarantine.

Webroot and spysweeper 2011 no longer puts cookies into quarentee section

I have the same problem: Webroot 2011 no longer detects and quarantines cookies. If you go to the Webroot Support page and type "no longer quarantine cookies", it offers the generated issue: "You want to know why Internet Explorer cookies are not detected in a scan"; to which it offers the following answer: "A recent Microsoft security update (KB 2559049) [...check your Windows updater, I got this security update on my computer on August 10th...] prevents Webroot security programs from identifying spy cookies on systems where the update is applied. Although these cookies cannot be detected, your core antivirus and anti-spyware protection is not compromised. Viruses and spyware are still blocked. Webroot engineers are actively investigating options to restore spy cookie detections and any solutions will be provided in an upcoming release." (This statement is not dated; I am looking at it now, August 28th, 2011, on their Webroot Support page.) I have Windows Vista operating system and Webroot 2011 version 7.0.11.21. My Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper hasn't swept up anything in scans in the last couple of weeks, but it did block an internet site last night; so I think it's still working. Hope this helps!

When I run my weber spy the definition box fills up and won"t scan any more what should I do?? If I have to quarantine before the run is finished how would I do it??

I have found running it then stopping it partway thru, quarantining the items found so far and re - starting it has worked well in the past. Gd tip: always run 2 antispyware apps. Try spybot search and destroy or Malwarebytes, both are free and very effective. Same advice goes for antivirus programs. AVG free is good and you can`t beat the price :-)

I keep getting the message "The spy sweeper installation has been damaged. Please reinstall the product. (105) Can you help?

get rid of spy sweeper and get a program call deep freeze there is a trail version here http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp this application will also let you get rid of your antivirus program, you see antivirus program's can only protect you from what allready is and not what s comming. with this program you get a virus simply turn off and on the computer and wala virus gone.

Webroot problems

I just went through this this afternoon, I spent 8 hours removing and updating and loading McAfee and running it too.

Webroot is a bad program, it is hard to remove and some of the componets just cannot be removed unless you do a search for the file and then delete it....if you need a certain dll then the anti-virus should detect that and remove or quarantine it.

I would suggest that you remove Webroot, and install another anti-virus program...I swear by McAfee, it removed over 30 problems or quarantined them, it works and is well worth the money spent....If you have Comcast, it is FREE to download on all of your computers in your home....just part of the internet service.

PS...Uniblue registry booster is no good, and another one that is hard to remove...it has spyware too.

Quarantined Items

If you are running XP or Vista, you can try doing a system restore to a date just before you deleted the files.
Depending on your OS, click on START>HELP AND SUPPORT and look for the heading that says System restore.
You will not lose any documents or emails that were created or recieved between the restore point and current.

Spy sweeper not working

1- Install using this serial: SSDC-ONLN-AAAA-NNNL-NINC

Then

2- Go into the C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper

Then

3- Right click the "install.dat" file-->go to Properties--> at the bottom check the boxes "read-only" and "hidden"-->then click Apply

And finally....

4- Run SpySweeperFix.v1.1.exe

Allow SpySweeperFix.v1.1.exe to run on the next Windows start up, this gives you the definition update till 2020, otherwise, you'll just get till 2006!

Hope this helps, if not, post back.
