We had a power outage for 3 days, starting when we were running a load of laundry. All came back on and we ran 3 loads fine, but now it says nd on the panel and will not complete the cycle. I was washing 6 small rubber backed stair tread rugs and when I opened the door a ton of suds came out (never happened before...) I cut power at the curcuit and retried it, any other suggestions? This is a Maytag MAH6500AWW Neptune purchased 11/2003. Not even sure it is power related or if it is just dying from overuse! Thanks Sarah
ND error means No Drain condition.
It can mean the Pump has failed - or the strainer is plugged.
Likely the latter of the 2 since you mentioned washing rubber rugs :)
You will need to access the motor and remove the pump's inlet hose and check the screen for debris.... clean out, and re-try.
If i remember correctly - the pump is easily accessed from the rear of the machine. (remove the rear panel)
If you remove the hoses and find them clear - the pump should be checked for proper operation next - but start with the screen first.
While it is apart - look into the pump's impeller to be sure there isnt thread or something impeding the impeller.
Keep me posted.
Thanks!!
I'm an owner as you and do all my repair on multiple FAV6800A machines.
I don't feel from the info supplied that you have a drain pump/drain line issue because you do not take a "ND" error code for "no drain" during the wash cycle.....the wash cycle completes. I don't believe you have a stuck slightly open water inlet valve in the machine because I feel the machine would eventually over fill and flood the laundry area in time.
Is there any standing water in the wash basket when you remove the wet clothes after the final Spin Cycle?
I would place the machine in Service Mode and run it thru a Quick Spin Test (with a wet load) and record the fastest RPM speed the wash basket will spin up to.
You need the Service Manual to help you get into Service Mode to do the test. Are you going to DIY or call in repair service?
If you want to run the Quick Spin test I will look for a previous post on this forum where I called out the process steps.
