I believe your dispenser board is defective. The fact that the cubed ice light remains on even when you ask for crushed indicates to me that a relay or switch in the board is remaining engaged. You possibly can unplug the refrigerator and remove the plug on the dispenser board and reinsert the plug to see if resetting or re-seating the dispenser board will resolve the problem. I will get you some photos, links and wiring dagrams to assist you. Sea Breeze

Would like you to click here=> MZD2766GEB Wiring Diagram and have a look at the top section of the wiring diagram. It shows this board and the related conections to it. Sometimes when I link this it works. If not I will do it differently

If your model should have the slid lelector switch which I don't think so because of the digital display this is a solution for that model

    Checking and Replacing the Crusher

    and Water/Cube Switch:

    1. Disconnect the unit from the power

    source.

    2. Perform steps 1 through 3 of Ice & Water

    Fountain Bracket Assembly

    Removal.

    3. Remove the two slide selector mounting

screws. (See drawing in the lower

    left column.)

    4. Remove the slide selector.

    5. Check the continuity of the switch. If

    defective, go to step 6.

    6. Remove the switch mounting screw.

    7. Remove the switch.

    8. Remove the wire leads.

    9. Install new switch in reverse order of

    removal.

My maytag refrigerator crushed ice will not switch back to cubes

Try replacing the ice bucket. That has the teeth and gears that crush the ice up. It could be stuck. If not then there's a solenoid in the back of the freezer that switches the ice bucket from cubed to crushed. You'll see the rod in the ice bucket slides into a square hole that moves up and down. That's it there.

The ice maker of our GE GSH25JSXSS is only producing crushed ice even when it's set to cubed. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Check that the shifter bar on the bottom of the ice bin is moving to shift from cubed ice to crushed. With the ice bin out you should see movement in the back wall of the freezer with the light switch button held in while changing the dispenser controls from cubed to crushed. GSH25JSXASS Parts

I only get crushed ice from the dispencer , how can i get cubed ice?

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.

My ice maker produces ice just fine, however when I try to receive "Cubed Ice" it dispences it "Crushed". It makes no difference if the front panel "Cubed Ice" button is pushed or the "Crushed Ice" button...

Not sure what brand you have but I had a similar problem with a dispenser once. The ice dispenser would freeze up and couldn't change over from one to the other and I'd have to take it out and let it thaw occasionally and then it would be fine for several months again. If your ice bin is in the door this may be what you need to do.

Matag fridge msd2351hew icemaker ice and water work and cubes come of crushed ice dispencer. There is a capacitor connected to auger motor. Is this the problem? There are no other electrical parts.

If you remove the bin and look on the bottom of it you will see a rod running from front to back, this opens and closes the crusher see if it moves freely, if not dump the ice and rinse the bin out with hot water till it moves freely,if so,with the door open set the dispenser to cubes leave the bin out push the light switch in and hit the  dispenser button you should hear a loud pop and see the actuator by the auger motor move up,and drop down when you release it.

Not dispensing ice cubes, only crushed

Yup, do like I did. Clean the caddie of all ice cubes. Place a large water catching tray under the door, and run hot water from the inside where the the caddie holds the ice. You will see large chunks of ice that was freezing up your cube maker. After a couple of glasses of hot water pouring through the caddie, it will defrost and the frozen part will be released. Take off the caddie, and run water through it from your sink. Clearing all ice debris. Replace the caddie. Do not use for 24 hours, and it should run beautifully. Mine did that before it froze up and I cleaned it. You should probably take the caddie off every couple of months and run water through it to keep it clean of frozen debris, make sure its dried off well and put it back, wait overnight. and it should be ok.
This is what I did, hope it helps.

Ice cube button is lite but the only dipenses crushed ice

We have had this problem on occasion. The lever up in the ice dispencer gets jammed with frost and ice. If you remove the ice bucket/auger and let it thaw or just rinse it with water and dry it. Give it a try. -Matt
