Make sure it's the motor making the noise and not the transmission. Motor is part 18 on this diagram.

You need to gain access so you can see the motor and observe whether or not it's running during the spin cycle and if the noise is coming from there. There is an access panel on the rear you may be able to see the motor from there. If not take the back off. Here's a diagram of the cabinet. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partse...

take out the plug
remove the motor
now clean it ??
check the brushes or replace them if worn
or if you do not do this a new motor will be needed
as the motor safety switch will get blown

Locked rotor on the bottom of the machine. If you remove the bottom plate of the dishwasher where the water valve and electrical hook up is the motor is right there. If the rotor on the motor is locked up the dishwasher will not drain.. If you take a screwdriver and spin the rotor on the back of the motor it may release the rotor. If it does not spin freely then you will need to replace it. Make sure to unplug the dishwasher before doing any repairs to it.

Strange growling sounds on rinse and spin cycle

I would check the motor control board located near the floor on the right side for burnt components. The motor is a 3 phase unit and if one of the phases are working the motor will growl and won't be able to supply the proper torque.

Wow this is strange,but you can do it.
You would have to dis Connect the timer for a start.
Then trace the wires from the spin cycle to the motor.
Connect that strait up to each other,you can put a on off switch in to control it other wise you should plug it in and out.
