I have a GE WBSE3120B2WW top loading washer and it agitates, but will not drain or spin. I can hear the motor humming, but nothing moves - water just stays in the tub...help!

Had a similar problem, turned out to be a quarter which had, somehow, gotten jammed in the drain pump! Once I removed that, the machine drained just fine! :)

THIS IS A TYPICLE PROBLEM . BETWEEN THE MOTOR & THE TRANSMISSION THERE IS A COLLECTOR ASSEMBY (THREE PIECE
SET) REAL EASY TO GET TOO EASY TO FIX . ALSO COST EFFICENT
Inspect the drain hose for kinks Test the timer control Test the lid switch (some models) Inspect the water pump Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only) Inspect the motor coupler
Hi, When the cycle goes into drain, do you hear the motor humming at all? If the motor does not hum, check the lid switch.
If the washer agitates, there must be a problem with lid switch ot timer. The lid switch is most common.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.
you have transmission problems. When your washer is empty and off you should be able to turnthe agitator by hand if you can't then the transmission is bad.
first look to see if this is a belt drive. If not look for a coupler(round black rubber piece with three holes, three plastic fingers from both sides going in it) from the motor to the gearcase. The motor sit between the pump and gearcase, it will pump out, but not spin.
Water gets drained when it passes the washing cycle on the knob ? do you hear the motor humming ? like it wants to start? if no sound from motor then check the sensor switch located under the top of washer where door closes, it could be loose or defective, if you hear sound coming from motor , check the belt ,if belt OK, then MOTOR need to be replace, hope this info helps , AJ
try replacing the drive bell, which is underneath the agitator. take the agitator off and unscrew the drive bell. remove and replace. the drive bell is most likely stripped.
There's a coupler that normaly goes.just tip the machine over and loosen the motor.the coupler will be 3 legged and plastic.just replace and it should be ok.
