The transport bolts are required to be installed before transporting the machines. This is to support the suspension system to prevent damage to the machines during transportation.

The washer has a capacity of 9.0 kg or 19.8 lbs with a volume of 3.7 cubic feet. The dryer's capacity is 7.0 cubic feet.

Model WED9750Wl Duet Whirlpool Dryer Installed today. Followed all Mfgr instructions. At first cycle test for each rev of the unit, a loud thump-clank-rattle. Runs smooth til next revolution of the...

go to the back of the unit and visually check for the transportation bolts also if this unit is new you will not be able to do any repairs to the unit otherwise you would void your warranty My suggestion is to call for service immediatley if the unit is new do not run the unit until you go around the back and remove the transport bolts they are not noted in the installation manual and should of been taken off by the delivery people if you ran the unit with the bolts in place pray that it did not damage the machine I await your reply to find out if this unit is new and under warranty Thanks Rick

Need exact dimensions of duet washer & dryer bought in 2006. Also how to prepare for moving same appliances.

Basic measurements for washer and dryer with door closed and not on optional pedestal(s) are 31.5" deep (front to back), 27" wide, (left to right), and 38" high. For installation and usage consider the leveling feet, use of pedestal(s), water hookups, drain hose for washer, and vent (exhaust) hose for dryer. You may want to position the washer on your left, and the dryer on the right due to hinge location, and for ease of transferring laundry from one machine to the other. Depth of washer (front to back) with door open 90 degrees is 50.5" and the dryer is 51.5". At the factory, four (4) shipping bolts are attached to the back of the washer to secure the drum for shipping. These should be re-installed prior to the move, (if you still have them). Is it necessary to do something special to move a front loading Whirlpool washer.

Yes. You need special care movers to move it due to the unability to replace the transport bolts.

I have a 4 year old duet dryer that does not heat. Is it difficult to get/replace the heating element?

If its only 4 years old you probably have a bad thermal protector, Take the bottom front cover off and check with a meter to see if any are open. They cost about 35$. Otherwise look for a local guy to do the job for 150$

My Whirlpool Duet shrinks my clothes.

If you did not have good success with the unit - I would advise against getting another one.

Just bought new whirlpool duet front load washer missing transport bolts

They are not critical - only if you will be moving again.

Check for proper functionality, and notify the seller of your findings.

During the final spin cycle, our front loading whirlpool is making a really loud noise - it sounds like a train is going through the house. It is in the basement on a concrete floor.

If the washer is brand new, look on the back panel and make sure the 4 transportation bolts have been removed. The bolts should be roemoved completely - they are only necessary to protect the washer during transportation.

If the bolts are removed, adjust the front two legs to be 1/4 inch higher than the back two. That 1/4 inch will balance the washer during the spin cycle, perfectly.
