Whirlpool AWM6100 front loading - door open when not!

I too have a whirlpool AWM6100 front loading machine and the door open light keeps coming on as soon as the cycle starts meaning the washer won't work- the door isn't open but the light is flashing. Has anyone got the answer!!

The door is locked so you have to switch off the washer to release the lock and open the door, Have tried to run through fault diagnostics but as soon as water flows in open door light comes on and washer stops. Sorry for being such washer novice but what do you suggest!!

Whirlpool AWM 6100/s Front load washer

Sounds like the front door switch has come out of place, or the actuator is out of place. If you can take the front cover off to get to this switch, you should be able to get it back into place pretty easily. Hope this helps, chad

Does not go through cycle. Door open light flashing even though closed. Have tried disconnecting and powering back on, but still won't work.

Your door latch wax motor needs replacing.

cut and paste this factory service manual.
