LSE7806A stack: the wash fills to the water level/load size selected. it starts to agitate then stops and begins to fill with water again which causes overflow, help please

the water pressure/level switch contacts are welded together,usually the load selector switch for the amount of water lets it fill to a determined water level and the water level creates pressure in a tube from the tub to this switch and stops water fill and starts the wash agitation cycle,replace this switch inside the control panel

If the water stops when you press the timer in then it is the hose to the water level switch or the switch itself. If you have to turn the water off to stop it then it is the fill valve( where the hoses connect)

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

Your control board is bad. It must be replaced. It can not be repaired.

quite possible that the fuse has gone bad again, if that s the case i would recommend replacing the fuse, and the lid switch.

Renee, after you hit your wash cycle selection does the washer begin to fill with water and rotate the wash basket? I need to know what does work , it will tell me what does not. capnhook

maytag washer dryer stack unit , model # lse7806ace washer fills with water but won't agitate or do anything else. I had the same problem a year ago and replace the lid switch asssemby and fuse and it worked fine until now. the switch clicks when I open and close the lid and the pink and orange wires show continuity with the lid closed.

yes unless pressure switch(water level switch)detects proper fill level wash will never start agitating some washer will not spin if switch does not detect empty tub
