It could be issues with the power, or sustain boards, it may be best to buy a new TV as boards for plasma sets are costly and hard to find

Select the default picture settings first. Then adjust the color according to your taste. It will be the best picture.

Panasonic plasma TH-42pz700 has left hand side of screen distorted

The set uses two boards to drive the screen --one for each half or side.

Different names are used like sustain or in LCD sets inverter.

When i try to play dvd's on my plasma the picture alignment is off and the color is blue...

Sounds like the wrong Video standard.
USA = NTSC
Europe = PAL
France = SECAM.
Check what it should be and set it accordingly.

THERE is a problem with my panasonic plasma tv the model # is TH-42PX80U I THINK IT IS ON SLEEP MODE OR IT IS on standby mode or i think it is on sleep mode with a password to unlock it from sleep mode

We should try a hard restart first, unplug the tv for a couple of hours then try again. Let me know how it goes and please rate this solution. lone99star

My Panasonic TH-42PX80U shows to have power but does not power on

You most likley have an issue with your power supply. I am sure you have AC getting to the power supply but he question is are there any DC voltages coming out of it to make the set operate? I would suggest changing the power supply first.

Picture: +80
Brightness: +60
Color: +44
Tint: -8
Sharpness: 0
Color temp: Warm
Color management: On
x.v.Color: Off
Zoom adjust: [grayed out]
-Advanced picture submenu
Video NR: On
3D Y/C filter: [grayed out]
Color matrix: [grayed out]
MPEG NR: [grayed out]
Black level: Light
