Where is the drain located on Frigidaire model r134a? is it the hole on the bottom freezer side?

R134A is not the model number. This is located inside the freezer on a white sticker on the left or right wall. Anyways, the drain is going to be located inside, behind the back wall of the freezer on the floor, directly below the Evaporator coils where all of the "cold" in your entire box is created. If you're referring to a refrigerator, there should be an aluminum tray/pan that all the defrost water drains down into. Sometimes they just freeze over & the hole becomes plugged w/ice. Hope this helps. Tips appreciated. Have a great weekend :)

PLHS267ZA is leaking water from the bottom (freezer side)

I would look under the fridge for a drip pan that might be full, so when it defrost it overflows the pan and runs on the floor. If not that you must have a blockage somewhere in the drain line that runs to the drip pan. Take out the shelves and take off the plastic panels to access the drain and drain line, pour some warm water down the drain to unplug it.

Water in the bottom of the freezer that freezes, then the water goes out the door and is messing up my floor. My fridge is a Frigidaire side by side model MRS26LGJ. Yesterday, I cleaned out the freezer and...

The defrost drain located behind the freezer back panel has gotten clogged. You will need to remove the panel to gain proper access to the defrost drain. After removing the ice build up you will have to also clear the tube using boiling water alittle at a time poured into the drain opening. this will open the tube up and gain proper flow again.

Ice in bottom of freezer FRS26ZNH Already emptied freezer, let it get to room temp, used hair dryer to defost drain tube that goes to drain pan. It just refroze up and on defrost cycle the water goes into...

unkink drain hose...I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Whirlpool Fridge makes a loud dripping sound all the time G56SHE

Erin,

The water you hear sounds like it's coming from the automatic defroster in the freezer compartment. It runs down a drain tube into the pan you describe under the fridge. The pan is heated and evaporates the water.

Just some possible explanations if you are hearing "lots" of water"

* You may be in a warmer, more humid climate
* The temperature and humidity in your dwelling is elevated
* The door gasket on the freezer may be leaking
* The freezer is too full
* The freezer door is not closing properly
* The freezer door is being left open for extended periods
* There is a problem with the defrost cycle

If you are hearing water running all the time, check the ice maker water line and fill valve (if you have an ice maker) - there could be a leak or other malfunction.

Frigidiare PLHS39EESS9 Ice build up in bottom of Freezer

I had the same problem with my Jenn-air side-by-side

Your freezer has a defrost cycle and when the freezer temp is set too cold, your drainage pan and tube freezes up (behind the back panels in the freezer) and when that gets full it spills over too the bottom of the fridge and keeps building up until you notice.
  • Un-plug fridge and put your food in coolers or another fridge.
  • Defrost the freezer, remove the ice from the bottom.
  • Remove the back panel/s (in the freezer).
  • Check the drainage pan. If it is iced up, you'll have to carefully remove the ice and check the drainage hole.
  • If the hole is iced up, so is the first 1-2 inches of the plastic tube leading to the main drainage pan behind and under the fridge.
  • You can use a hair drier to speed up defrost.
  • To defrost the hole and tube I used round ended metal (nut pics or beater attachment ends- avoid sharp objects) heated up in boiling water and gently forced down into the hole and tube until defrosted.
  • Check flow(by pouring warm water) down and looking behind and under fridge(with flashlight) to see if flowing into main drainage pan.
  • Turn up your freezer temp and check with a thermometer. Your freezer temp was probably set too cold
Mine is going on 5 months with no problem. If this continues, it might be the defroster.
Good Luck!

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.
